Inked Up

I tried to keep up with Inktober. I really did. Ha, who my kidding? I drew stuff and posted it when it was convenient. Still, it's a fun exercise in daily discipline. If there's ever a reason to whip out an inky drawing and post it daily Inktober is certainly a fun way to go. And now a few of my Inktober posts:

When you run into the room dressed as Batman and jump on the bed the cat is sleeping on.

 This right here is reason enough to have a cat.

I thought about this action and then I thought if I dressed him up as Batman I could use the daily hashtag.

Entagled

 What started as a freestyling exercise turned into this piece. Is it a possible scene from an upcoming story I'm developing? Only time will tell. Or me if you get me drunk. Finished right on time for Inktober.

 Okay, well now that I see them all here looks like I had a weak Inktober, volume-wise, but I'll be ready next year. And hell, I do this shit all year. Fun.

Battle Ready

New illustration for my boy Jerry Carrillo for his son's laser tag "Call of Duty" themed birthday party. It's a caricature of his son runnin' and gunnin' through battle. It made it to the invitations and to the cake.

And alas, the cake. 

Jerry kept asking me to use brighter colors, as the darker cake frostings tend to taste bitter. Everything in Call of Duty and Halo and every other FPS game is pretty dark in color and otherwise, but I think I made it work pretty good.

Get Sunny

More Sunnyland from the archives! I know what yer thinking; "When is he gonna start posting new comics? All these strips are dated 2007 and such." Well, good question. All these 'From the Archive' posts are as much a refresher for you as they are for me. It seems like I've been away from working on these fun, short strips and that I myself must get reacquainted with the characters and scenarios all over again. Plus, (and I'm sure other comic creators will agree) it's fun to create comics, post 'em, forget about 'em, and then come back to 'em just to be blown away by your own creation. Not only that, but these archived strips serve to familiarize the new audiences with my world and my characters. I thought you woulda figured that out by now.

Rob and Shelly head for the cinema, online to have an anti-piracy yes-man get in the way. You can tell this one's dated by the mentioning of Bush. Although, has much changed since then?
