Armed & Dangerous

Today I saw a post about the top eight women wanted by the FBI here in the US. Reading it was a lot like reading a rogue's gallery list to a secret agent. Some committed some horrible acts of violence and piracy, while others just committed atrocious white collar crimes. Crimes of passion, crimes of money, crimes of revolution. It inspired me to draw out these characters as I saw them in my head based on the mugshots and what I imagined they wear and how they behave. Here's the POST.
Hopefully you'll be inspired to do your own searches on some of these women, and find out what their cause is (was). While some of these crimes are heinous, others are quite revolutionary. As far as the likeness, I did take a lot of creative license to craft these figures, so I would no way consider these entirely accurate to identify these fugitives. If you feel like chasing these bounties better find a better picture.

I enjoyed this lil' illustration project so much I prepared a PDF for you to print out so you and the kids can color these illustrations! Just download, print, and color!

HEY KIDS! Download, save, and print the PDF from HERE.

And it's in Honor of #VillainWeek.

sketching daily

...or at least trying to. One cool way I found to keep the brain and pencil going is by following @sketch_dailies on Twitta. They hit you with a daily prompt, you draw it and tweet it. It's that simple. They retweet the best ones, and it's a great way to see what other artists are doing and how to link up with some of them. I've only posted 2 so far, these.

Be prepared to be saved by Ugly Link.

Been a fan since middle school, but this is only the second time I've drawn Sailor Moon, believe it or not.

More to come as I keep on sketchin'!

flail

Comicpalooza came and went, four days, quite a blur. Of all the con sketches I did I only flicked two for them (I know, lame). Well, one is a sketch, the other was my piece from the live art auction from that Saturday.

End of the line for Obi Wan?
Shaky pic. In hindsight, I shoulda busted out my gouaches and whipped this out in color. It's time I step my game up.

Freddy Krueger vs. Wolverine
Returning fans looking to fill a new theme-book. They requested that Batman vs. Jason sketch I posted a few years back.

Other sketches included a Hunter S. Thompson piece, and a color piece of "Psycho Gorilla", a gorilla with a transplanted human brain that makes him psychotic. I know I know, lame how I didn't flick'em.

[UPDATE] Here's the Hunter S. Thompson sketch!
