destruction, terror

Once again, throwing down some art for Jerry Carrillo. I've been sitting on this one for a week or two, waiting on the perfect time to post and today is that day. My boy Jerry hooked up a show at the one-and-only House of Blues, slated for this week actually, the 16th, and so we needed to come up with something on the fly. And make it more universal in theme cuz the audience is a bit broader, pretty much turn down the ghetto themes a notch. Jerry kept mentioning the notion of wrecking it so I drew him literally towering over the HoB and swinging a mic into it like a wrecking ball. And it worked out also on another level. Turns out his character has done this before, swinging a mic into a brick wall for the 'Breaking In' show, our first flyer/poster we worked on together. Spotlights, wrecking-ball mic, and the character is even rocking flip-flops.

How's your October so far?

Today

NEW zine is ready and debuts at Zine Fest today. It's 28 pages of comic snips and sketchbook oddities all assembled together in an analog format. For those that don't really think they can live without a phone or computer that means hanging around the copy machine copying, enlarging, and shrinking images and scans right outta my sketchbook. Fun shit. I guess once I started outsourcing my printing I kinda mentally ruled out the whole zine-making process. Well, yesterday I fell in love with it again. There's something about a hand-made, stapled book that's so gratifying to hold as well as seek out and own. I've made an edition of 25. Get'em while they last!

Facially

Got this idea going to a public bathroom the other day. Not quite a Window Unit comic but I have no other title to call it, it's just random like that. And yeah, there really is a dick there to bleep out.

Thick Thighs

New book cover I whipped up for my friend Van. Hmmm...that's all I can say without giving it all away. Peep it.

(update) Better yet, snag a copy for yourself!--->   The Iron Legs in the Trees

Oh, and my Robbie and Bobby fan comic is up. Go here to read it!

After I wrap up this major project I shall put the finishing touches on a what....a NEW ZINE. That's right. I've been slacking with my book publishing (last year I didn't put one out), so I've decided there's no better time to debut a new book than at the Houston Zine Fest this Saturday.

Stay Tooooon'd!
